Obligatory sex jokes aside: it's the feeling of 'variations of distance' or the 'words between lines' of it. Thinking you need to add something in excess might be why the intensity hazes out: My recommendation is throwing some space for reflection in there, like ATB's "A Fine Day" or those sections of rest in Daft Punk.
Probably wouldn't hurt to throw up a cheap mic for vocals and blending it into artificiality, it'd add allot more detail to see and convey more for less with.

In short: "The is space and non-space *puffs pipe staring into onto distant mountains* to be both full, a universe must have each, or there is nowhere to go, and there would be everything but freedom!" *Camera pans out to reveal Scottish kilt, cap, and bastard sword*

That's Beautifol!

It brings a memory of Strongholds' ambient music for similar battle and overviews of civilization and that's a boosting string to hit.

Head over heals above what I know how to do and that's a good sounding thing right there.

With the .... I'm going to call it "drop off and warble" you add a neat note of synthetic / electronic feel which is a spicy mixture with the orchestral sound.

Audio wise you do peak a bit around the middle with those highs, and methinks you can pull some more feels outta that if you mix the amps to fit and mebe taper the end.

I hear the underpinning music at work is a finagle of the classical genera. To me it fit "Ambient" or "Soundtrack", words words words, man, that's worth using right there.

If I can find an appropriate time to fit it with somethn'

-- The feelin of the strings has got me a bit of the pictorial nostalgia of somethin' like a serious sci-fi or grand age cinema type of theme goin to it. I think your instincts are right on the strings. I can't imagine what alternate could be there because everything is a style but they might really click with an adjustment. (I just ain't proficient with compositions like that maself)

That's just the right kind of editing back-work. Just my sort of fella.

Out of my language but that's a nice song, would love to hear the translation.

That's not really A capella but that hardly matters.
